Our Story
It’s kind of odd to start a company in an industry you’ve wanted to leave so many times.
I joined the impact space for the same reason you probably did — to make life better for people through my work.
In 16 years, I’ve worked with fundraising agencies fighting hunger and poverty around the world -and met phenomenal people.
But I was also surprised by what else seemed endemic in many of these companies - toxicity, greed, hypocrisy - repeatedly choosing profit over people.
Like a lot of you, I’ve seen an industry designed for good, that often is pretty bad at how we approach our own people.
(To be honest, that seemed like enough reason for me to finally get out).
And yet —
There are still some phenomenal organizations, and phenomenal leaders in our industry who put people and mission first.
So I started work.ingenuity because I know change is possible in our industry, and I want to be part of it:
I want to build phenomenal workplaces for my colleagues.
I want to build organizations that really do make the world a better place.
And I really think that starts with how we approach our people.
